Colleagues at Barclays are continuing to lend IT support to our partnership.
In 2014 some Barclays colleagues travelled to Africa with the Egerton delegation. At that time they supplied laptops to advance IT education, helped to refurbish the school and delivered ‘Barclays Money Skills’ training to Egerton students in Knutsford and Kenya.
The Barclays team has continued with this support and recently donated eight Raspberry Pi computers (to enable students to learn programming and more) and a RACHEL server (Remote Areas Community Hotspots for Education and Learning – acts as a Wi-Fi hotspot and includes 100+ articles of educational content).
Enabling IT in the classroom is another exciting step in helping the young people of Kenya and Knutsford to share ideas and achieve their ambitions.
