Back in 2015 The Egerton Schools’ Foundation were able to secure a grant from The British Foreign Schools’ Society to support Egerton in Kenya to develop their own library. In addition it funded training for teachers, a peer mentoring scheme and supports parents in hearing their children read. Although the grant has enabled the school to buy much needed resources, the children & parents of Egerton Knutsford wanted to do their bit.
With a desire to ensure kids across both of our schools were able to share in the same delight for reading, kids from all year groups in Egerton Knutsford have donated their favourite books, all of which will be making the 6,629 mile journey from Knutsford to Kenya when our next trip leaves tomorrow!
From Alice in Wonderland to The Gruffallo, Horrid Henry to Harry Potter, it’s fair to say the love of reading will well and truly be shared.
Happy reading everyone!
